My brother introduced me to backpacking at Tuolomne Meadows (Yosemite) where we take the trail to Glen Aulin High Sierra Camp. Backpacking in the Sierra wilderness is a great way to see the hidden treasures of God's creation. The scenery is spectacular, and there is a sense of peace and tranquility when we leave civilization behind. The troubles of our daily life are set aside as we soak in the lush green landscapes, majestic rock formations, wildflowers, waterfalls, and night skies filled with bright stars. It's a great place to reflect on God's sustaining hand in our lives, knowing that He is our source of peace in the midst of a stress-filled world.
This pond is located just inside the Tioga Pass entrance to Yosemite National Park. At an elevation of over 7000 ft, the Tuolomne Meadows area is closed in the winter due to heavy snow. The best time to visit is late spring and early summer. If you arrive at this pond early in the morning, you might see a reflection like this one.
Be still and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in all the earth. Psalm 46:10
