Isaiah 40:31 - Bald Eagle
Gain New Strength
Gain New Strength

This eagle gives us a sense of power and grace through the movement of it's wings.  It also shows us an illustration of God's power and majesty.

Isaiah 40:28-31 is beautifully set to music by John Chisum and George Searcy in a song called "Wings Like Eagles".  It was performed by Truth, lead by Roger Breland, on their CD titled "Equation of Love".  The words in the song follow scripture almost word for word (using the NKJV).  I can't read these verses without hearing the song in my mind and singing it in my heart.  Many thanks to Truth for their ministry impact in so many lives, including mine.

Isaiah 40:28-31 says:

28)  Have you not known?
Have you not heard?
The everlasting God, the Lord,
The Creator of the ends of the earth,
Neither faints nor is weary.
His understanding is unsearchable.

29)  He gives power to the weak,
And to those who have no might He increases strength.

30)  Even the youths shall faint and be weary,
And the young men shall utterly fall,

31)  But those who wait on the Lord
Shall renew their strength;
They shall mount up with wings like eagles,
They shall run and not be weary,
They shall walk and not faint.

Isaiah 40:31 has been a source of encouragement and hope during many times of distress.  When I reflect on this verse, instead of feeling overwhelmed by my struggles, my heart begins to focus on God's strength and care.  He gives me the strength that I need to accomplish His will.
