When the poppies are in bloom at the Lancaster Poppy Reserve, small herds of sheep are sometimes seen in the open fields nearby. A shepherd and his faithful dogs keep watch over them as they feast on fresh spring wildflowers. This herd did not mind my presence among them. I could hear their busy conversations of "baa" as their heads were bowed down to graze. One sheep raised his head and looked up at me with gentle eyes and ears stretched wide. The notch in his ear shows the shepherd's claim of ownership. When I look at this sheep, I wonder if this is the way God sees me. Am I attentive to His voice with trusting eyes and an open heart?
My sheep hear My voice and I know them, and they follow Me. John 10:27
