Nature's Praise  

The green flash is a rare phenomenon that appears for a brief moment during sunset in certain atmospheric conditions.  By God's providence, we were able to capture the green flash from the deck of a cruise ship off the coast of Kauai looking toward Lehua Island.  I had no idea of the significance of what I had captured until my brother explained about the green flash.  You can search 'green flash' at Wikipedia to find out more. My husband suggested the idea of using 1 Cor. 15:51-52 to accompany the photo.  It has become an exciting opportunity to reflect on the hope of resurrection.    


The promise of rapture and resurrection is a source of great joy for those who believe in Jesus Christ and receive His sacrifice on the cross for the forgiveness of sin.  Through His victory over death, He gives us hope for our own resurrection and future in heaven.  Our earthly bodies will be left behind, and we'll be changed in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye.  We will receive a new heavenly body which will never perish and we'll spend eternity worshipping God and enjoying His presence.

For my Father's will is that
everyone who looks to the Son
and believes in Him
shall have eternal life,
and I will raise him up at the last day.
John 6:40


Listen, I tell you a mystery: 
We will not all sleep,
but we will all be changed,
 in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye,
at the last trumpet. 
For the trumpet will sound,
the dead will be raised imperishable,
and we will be changed.

As we live our days here on the earth, our bodies are gradually growing older and many will face declining health.  However, our soul can become more alive in Christ as we draw closer to Him and place our hope in Him.  Then, in a flash, we'll be transformed and given a new body which will never decay.  Can you imagine spending eternity in heaven with no pain, no disease and no sorrow?  With great anticipation, we look forward to the day we get to go to heaven.  We hope it will be soon and very soon!
